Avanafil 200 mg, 100 mg, 50 mg - A Comprehensive Review
Content: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is an extremely common condition that affects approximately 30 million men in the United States alone. There are various treatment options available for ED, one of which is Avanafil, an orally administered, selective inhibitor of PDE5 (phosphodiesterase 5). It works in a similar fashion to sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis) and vardenafil (Levitra). However, Avanafil has a shorter duration of action compared to tadalafil.
Avanafil is available in several strengths including 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg. The recommended starting dose is 100 mg which is to be taken orally approximately 30 minutes prior to sexual activity. Based on individual efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 200 mg or decreased to 50 mg. Avanafil should not be taken more frequently than once a day.
Avanafil starts working within 30 minutes to 1 hour of taking the medication, and the effects last up to 6 hours. Avanafil can be taken with or without food, but taking it with a high-fat meal may reduce the amount of drug that gets absorbed into the body.
Avanafil is not indicated for use in females. Geriatric use is not expected to have a significant impact on the pharmacokinetics of Avanafil. However, a dose reduction to 50 mg should be considered in patients 65 years of age and older.
Avanafil has been shown to have a rapid onset of action, with the majority of patients achieving a successful sexual intercourse attempt within 15 minutes of taking the drug. Across four major clinical trials involving more than 3,900 patients, Avanafil was shown to be effective in improving erectile function. In these trials, men taking Avanafil reported improved erections, and better overall sexual satisfaction.
Common side effects of Avanafil include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, nausea, and back pain. These side effects are generally mild to moderate in severity and transient. Serious side effects of Avanafil are rare. However, Avanafil may cause QT prolongation, which can sometimes progress to Torsade de Pointes (a life-threatening heart rhythm). Coadministration of Avanafil with medicines such as macrolide or fluoroquinolone antibiotics, azole antifungal agents, and antiretroviral protease inhibitors should be avoided.
Concomitant use of Avanafil with alpha-blockers, other PDE5 inhibitors, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors is contraindicated. It is important to discuss with your doctor about all the medications you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal supplements.
Avanafil may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. Rise slowly from a sitting or lying down position. Avoid driving or hazardous activities after taking Avanafil. Limit alcohol intake, as excessive alcohol use can increase the risk of fainting, dizziness, and low blood pressure.
To determine the appropriate dosage of Avanafil, it is crucial to consult with your healthcare provider. You can order Avanafil online from legitimate online pharmacies at competitive prices. It is however important to ensure that you are buying from a trusted online pharmacy to avoid counterfeit medications.
In conclusion, Avanafil is an effective treatment for ED with a rapid onset of action and a favorable safety profile. While it is widely available in various strengths, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the appropriate dosage for your individual needs.
